- 1 teaspoon organic turmeric powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon warm coconut oil or ghee
- 1 cup warm water or unsweetened plant milk
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon raw honey (optional)
- Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
- Peels from 4–6 organic apples
- 4 cups filtered water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3–4 whole cloves
- 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 teaspoon raw honey (optional, for apple peel tea)
Instructions
- For the Turmeric Shot: Warm your liquid of choice to just below boiling, whisk in turmeric and black pepper until smooth, add coconut oil and whisk until melted, then stir in ginger, honey, and lemon juice. Drink immediately on an empty stomach.
- To prepare Apple Peel Tea: Wash apple peels, combine with water and spices in a saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain, sweeten if desired, and serve warm or chilled.
Notes
The turmeric drink should be consumed on an empty stomach for maximum benefits. Apple peel tea is excellent for reducing waste and provides fiber.
