- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
- 1 Egg (Beaten)
- 1 Onion (Finely diced)
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
- 3 tbsp All-purpose flour (For thickening gravy)
- 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 Onion (Sliced)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large bowl, gently mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Avoid overmixing.
- Shape the mixture into 6 to 8 oval-shaped patties.
- Heat an oven-safe skillet on medium heat and brown the patties for 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the sliced onions until soft (about 4 to 5 minutes).
- Add flour and stir for 2 minutes, then whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream until thickened (about 3-5 minutes).
- Nestle the browned patties into the gravy, ensuring they are mostly covered.
- Cover the skillet and bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
