Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- ½ cup water (for soaking)
- ½ banana, sliced
- ½ green apple, sliced and peeled if needed
- 1 small slice fresh ginger or ¼ teaspoon ginger powder
- ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk or filtered water
- Optional: ice, ½ scoop unflavored protein powder, cinnamon, or fresh mint
Instructions
- Soak chia seeds: Combine chia seeds with water and let sit for 10–15 minutes until gel-like consistency forms.
- Prepare fruits: Slice banana and green apple, peeling apple if digestive sensitivity requires it.
- Blend ingredients: Combine soaked chia, prepared fruits, ginger, and liquid base in blender. Blend until smooth.
- Add optional ingredients: Include ice, protein powder, cinnamon, or mint according to preference.
- Adjust texture: Add more liquid if too thick, or additional soaked chia if too thin.
Notes
Skip ginger if you’re sensitive or in early post-operative stages. Substitute banana with berries for lower sugar content. Introduce chia gradually after surgery to monitor fiber tolerance. Store any leftover soaked chia seeds in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
