Bariatric Seed Weight Loss Recipe for Safe, Daily Post-Op Support

A gentle, effective bariatric seed drink designed for post-op weight loss support—made with soaked chia, lemon, ginger, and warming spices.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (must be pre-soaked)
  • ½ teaspoon ground flaxseed
  • ½ teaspoon fresh grated ginger (or ¼ teaspoon powder)
  • Juice of ½ fresh lemon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey or monk fruit sweetener (optional)
  • 1.5 cups warm water (around 120°F, not boiling)

Instructions

  1. Place chia seeds in ½ cup warm water for 10–15 minutes until gel-like consistency forms.
  2. Add flaxseed, ginger, lemon juice, cinnamon, and optional sweetener to the soaked chia.
  3. Pour in remaining warm water, transfer to a mason jar, and shake thoroughly.
  4. Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then sip slowly for optimal digestion.

Notes

Always pre-soak chia seeds. Use monk fruit for a sugar-free version. Start with smaller portions in early recovery. Consult your bariatric team before adding new ingredients.
