- 1 cup warm milk (about 110-115°F)
- 2 1/2 tsps dry instant yeast (quick rise)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsps cinnamon
- 1/2 cup heavy cream, warmed
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- 1/3 cup softened butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla or maple extract
Instructions
- Lightly grease a 9×13 inch pan and have warm milk ready.
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 2-3 minutes.
- Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Stir well.
- Add flour one cup at a time, mixing after each cup.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 45-60 minutes.
- Mix the filling ingredients until crumbly.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll into a 16×12 inch rectangle.
- Spread filling mixture evenly over the dough, roll tightly from the long side.
- Cut into 12 even rolls and place in the prepared pan. Let rise for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake rolls for 22-28 minutes until golden.
- Remove from oven and brush with warm frosting made from whisking together frosting ingredients until smooth.
Notes
These rolls can be made ahead and frozen unbaked. Serve warm for the best experience!
