- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 3–4 tablespoons milk
- Red food coloring
- Black food coloring (optional) for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box. Prepare cupcake liners in a muffin tin.
- Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Fill cupcake liners with the batter about two-thirds full.
- Bake the cupcakes according to the time specified on the box. Keep an eye on them to avoid overbaking.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing, and pour in the milk until the frosting is smooth and creamy.
- Divide the frosting into two bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl and mix black food coloring into the other for decoration.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the white frosting from the second bowl. Drizzle red frosting over the white to create a blood splatter effect.
