Cheesy Beef Dip

A warm and gooey appetizer made with ground beef, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese, perfect for parties or cozy nights in.

  • Total Time: 135 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90 percent lean)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, cubed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 medium tomato, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles
  • Tortilla chips or crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Transfer the cooked beef and onion mixture to a greased 1.5 or 3-quart slow cooker.
  3. Stir in the cubed cream cheese and 1.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, then add the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining half cup of cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, until heated through and cheese is melted.
  6. Top with the chopped tomato and dill pickles before serving.
  7. Serve warm with tortilla chips or crackers.

Notes

For a spicy variation, add diced jalapeños or hot sauce. You can also mix in black beans for added texture.
