Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lean ground beef (90 percent lean)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, cubed
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles
- Tortilla chips or crackers for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer the cooked beef and onion mixture to a greased 1.5 or 3-quart slow cooker.
- Stir in the cubed cream cheese and 1.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, then add the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Sprinkle the remaining half cup of cheddar cheese on top.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, until heated through and cheese is melted.
- Top with the chopped tomato and dill pickles before serving.
- Serve warm with tortilla chips or crackers.
Notes
For a spicy variation, add diced jalapeños or hot sauce. You can also mix in black beans for added texture.
