- 1/2 cup heavy cream

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream, egg, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a 1-inch thick circle.
- Cut into wedges or use a round cutter for scones.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with raspberry or apricot jam.
Notes
Store scones at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze in a single layer and move to a freezer bag for up to 2 months.
