Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites at room temperature
  • 1 Cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of cream of tartar
  • 1/8 tsp almond extract
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Multi-color sprinkles
  • Star sprinkles
  • Frosting of your choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. In a heatproof bowl, combine egg whites, sugar, and cream of tartar over boiling water.
  3. Whisk until sugar dissolves and no granules remain.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in almond extract.
  5. Using a stand mixer, beat the mixture on medium-high speed until bright white and runny.
  6. Add green gel food coloring and mix until stiff peaks form.
  7. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  8. Pipe tree shapes on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  9. Sprinkle multi-color sprinkles on top before baking.
  10. Bake for 2 hours, then turn off the oven, leaving the cookies to cool in the oven for an additional 2 hours.
  11. Decorate with frosting and star sprinkles once cooled.
  12. Serve and enjoy!
