- 4 egg whites at room temperature
- 1 Cup granulated sugar
- Pinch of cream of tartar
- 1/8 tsp almond extract
- Green gel food coloring
- Multi-color sprinkles
- Star sprinkles
- Frosting of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C).
- In a heatproof bowl, combine egg whites, sugar, and cream of tartar over boiling water.
- Whisk until sugar dissolves and no granules remain.
- Remove from heat and whisk in almond extract.
- Using a stand mixer, beat the mixture on medium-high speed until bright white and runny.
- Add green gel food coloring and mix until stiff peaks form.
- Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Pipe tree shapes on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Sprinkle multi-color sprinkles on top before baking.
- Bake for 2 hours, then turn off the oven, leaving the cookies to cool in the oven for an additional 2 hours.
- Decorate with frosting and star sprinkles once cooled.
- Serve and enjoy!
