- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 large egg

- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Whisk together cream, egg, and vanilla in another bowl. Add to the flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; set aside.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently pat into a rectangle. Spread the cinnamon mixture over the dough. Fold the dough over and cut into triangular shapes.
- Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon for the topping and sprinkle over the scones before baking.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with Greek yogurt or cottage cheese for a balanced breakfast. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
