- 2 cups whole spelt flour
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine spelt flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in dark chocolate and sunflower seeds.
- Mix milk and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times. Pat into a circle about 1 inch thick.
- Cut into triangles or rounds and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
