  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla (optional)

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the pan: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment or foil and lightly spray if necessary.
  2. Spread the chips: Empty the bag of Fritos onto the prepared sheet in an even layer.
  3. Cook the syrup: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and corn syrup. Stir gently until bubbly, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Stir in peanut butter: Remove from heat, add peanut butter, vanilla, and salt, stirring until smooth.
  5. Pour and coat: Quickly pour the warm mixture over the Fritos and toss to coat.
  6. Optional chocolate finish: Sprinkle chocolate chips over the mixture, let them melt, and swirl with a spoon.
  7. Set and break: Allow the candy to cool at room temperature for 20-30 minutes until firm, or refrigerate for 10 minutes if needed.
