Deviled Egg Christmas Trees

A fun and festive appetizer that transforms simple deviled eggs into eye-catching Christmas trees.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (sliced thin)
  • 5 oz baby spinach
  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/2 lemon (juice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dehydrated potato flakes
  • 1 red fresno chili pepper (minced)
  • 1 yellow bell pepper (cut into small stars)
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Place 7 large eggs in a pot and cover them with water. Bring the water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, cover the pot and turn off the heat. Let the eggs sit for 12 to 15 minutes. After the time is up, place the eggs in cold water to cool down.
  2. In a frying pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 2 cloves of sliced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the 5 oz of baby spinach to the pan and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let it cool down.
  3. Peel the cooled eggs and slice them in half. Scoop out the yolks into a mixing bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork until fine. Add the cooked spinach, 1/3 cup mayo, 1 tablespoon mustard, 1/2 lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce, and 2 tablespoons dehydrated potato flakes to the yolks. Mix everything until smooth.
  4. Use a piping bag or zip-top bag with a cut corner to fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture. Arrange the filled eggs in a Christmas tree shape on a serving platter. Use the yellow bell pepper stars to decorate the top of each tree. Sprinkle minced red fresno chili pepper for a pop of color. Finish with grated parmesan cheese for a tasty garnish.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs or changing up the ingredients to suit your taste. These deviled eggs are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
