Easy Rice Krispie Baskets

Quick and fun Rice Krispie baskets made with simple ingredients, perfect for kids and any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 5 cups marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • jelly beans
  • chocolate eggs
  • candy coated chocolate eggs
  • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut (optional)
  • 24 drops food coloring (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon water

Instructions

  1. Get out and measure your ingredients.
  2. Prepare a muffin pan with butter or cooking spray. Set aside.
  3. In large saucepan melt butter over LOW heat.
  4. Add marshmallows, staying at low heat, stir until completely melted.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Add Rice Krispies cereal. Gently stir until well coated.
  7. Divide and press mixture into individual muffin cups creating baskets, as deep or shallow as you want.
  8. Cool and remove from muffin pans.
  9. Fill cooled nests with colored, shredded coconut.
  10. Fill cooled nests with melted chocolate, jelly beans or chocolate eggs. Serve the same day for the best flavor.

These baskets are best served the same day they are made to maintain their texture.
