- 1/3 cup onion (finely diced)
- 5 cloves garlic (finely minced)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon dried sage
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning (optional)
- 2 cups vegetable broth
Instructions
- In a medium pot over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add in the onion and garlic and sauté for 5 minutes until soft and fragrant.
- Whisk in the flour, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, dried sage, salt, and pepper until a paste forms.
- Slowly whisk in the broth gradually to avoid lumps in the gravy.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and then lower the heat to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for 6 to 8 minutes to thicken.
- If desired, use a blender or hand blender to blend the gravy to your preferred texture.
