Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- Filling (jam or fresh fruit of choice)
- Additional butter for brushing
- Sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
- Combine warm milk, melted butter, and egg in another bowl.
- Mix wet and dry ingredients, knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough and spread your choice of jam or fruit evenly.
- Roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
- Place on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle sugar on top.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow cooling slightly before serving.
Notes
For a healthier version, use less sugar or whole wheat flour. Serve warm or at room temperature.
