Garlic Butter Oyster Mushrooms

A simple yet delicious dish combining garlic and butter with the delicate texture of oyster mushrooms.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound oyster mushrooms (sliced or whole)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (vegan as desired)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 large cloves of garlic (minced or pressed)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Optional splash of white wine (about 1 tablespoon)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms with a wet paper towel, being careful not to rinse them.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the butter and olive oil, then add the mushrooms in an even layer. Let them caramelize for about 3 minutes.
  3. Stir and cook for 2 more minutes.
  4. Pour in the wine (if using) and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the garlic and parsley and cook for 1 additional minute.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Great as a side dish or appetizer. Can be served on rice, pasta, or toasted bread.
