- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Combine flour, cold butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix until crumbly. Add cold water and form into a dough, then chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a large rectangle.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in another bowl for the filling. Spread half of the mixture over one half of the rolled dough.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, sealing the edges.
- Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining sugar.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.
Notes
For a healthier version, use Greek yogurt instead of glaze. You can also modify for lower sugar or high-protein options.
