Gluten-Free Crab Rangoon

Ingredients

  • 1 recipe gluten free won ton wrappers
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 container crème fraiche
  • 2 tablespoons confectioner’s sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tamari (or gluten free soy sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon gluten free Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 can lump crabmeat
  • Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the won ton wrappers according to the recipe instructions.
  2. In a bowl, beat the cream cheese, crème fraiche, and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the tamari, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic, and mix until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the lump crabmeat using a spatula.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Wet the borders of the won ton wrappers, then fill each with about 1 teaspoon of crab filling.
  7. Seal the wrappers, ensuring no air is trapped.
  8. Heat about 3 inches of oil to 350°F in a deep fryer or saucepan.
  9. Fry the filled won tons in batches for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  10. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  11. Serve immediately.

Notes

Can be customized with spices or vegetables. Best served fresh with dipping sauces.
