Happy Halloween Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Food coloring (orange, black, and green for decoration)
  • Frosting of your choice (store-bought or homemade)
  • Halloween-themed decorations (candies, sprinkles, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing them in well. Pour in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until smooth.
  6. Divide the batter into smaller bowls and add food coloring to create different colors.
  7. Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
  8. Bake for about 18-20 minutes, testing with a toothpick for doneness.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes in the tin, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  10. Frost with your choice of frosting and decorate with Halloween-themed decorations.

Notes

Serve with pumpkin spice lattes or hot cocoa for a cozy touch. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
