Homemade Ina Garten Green Bean Casserole

A warm and creamy green bean casserole featuring fresh green beans, mushroom soup, milk, and crispy fried onions, perfect for holiday meals or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Trim the ends of the green beans and blanch them in boiling water for 3-5 minutes until tender, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the blanched green beans to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle French fried onions on top.
  6. (Optional) Add grated cheddar cheese on top of the onions.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown.
