- 16 King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (dried out at room temperature for 2 hours)
- 8 oz room temperature cream cheese (226g)
- 2–3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk, to taste
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter (113g)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 2–3 tbsp chopped or minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp grated or shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make 4 cuts in each roll, going 75% down, or just 2 cuts for 4 sections if preferred.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and salt until well combined, then transfer to a piping bag.
- Fill each roll with the cream cheese mixture through the cuts.
- Combine melted butter, egg, milk, remaining sweetened condensed milk, garlic, salt, parsley, and paprika in another bowl.
- Dip each roll into the garlic butter mixture for 1-2 seconds on each side and place on the baking sheet.
- Brush any leftover garlic butter on the rolls and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
These buns can be prepared in large batches and stored easily. They are best served warm and can be reheated.
