- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup baking soda (for boiling)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or pretzel salt (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, sugar, and warm water. Knead until smooth and let rise for 1 hour.
- Divide dough into equal portions and flatten each piece.
- Place shredded mozzarella in the center of each piece and seal tightly.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and add baking soda.
- Dip each stuffed pretzel into the boiling water for 30 seconds, then place on a baking sheet.
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds or pretzel salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding garlic powder or parmesan to the dough before baking.
