  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup baking soda (for boiling)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or pretzel salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, sugar, and warm water. Knead until smooth and let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Divide dough into equal portions and flatten each piece.
  3. Place shredded mozzarella in the center of each piece and seal tightly.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add baking soda.
  6. Dip each stuffed pretzel into the boiling water for 30 seconds, then place on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds or pretzel salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
