Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, place the ground beef. Cook it over medium heat until it is browned. Stir it often to break it apart.
- Once the beef is cooked through, drain any extra fat from the pot.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell pepper to the pot. Cook these ingredients until they become softened, usually for about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Stir in the can of diced tomatoes and the beef broth.
- Add the elbow macaroni and the Italian seasoning to the pot. Stir everything to combine well.
- Raise the heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste the goulash and season with salt and pepper to your liking. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top before serving, if desired.
