Ingredients

- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 container of chocolate frosting
- Oreo cookies (for spiders)
- Black licorice or chocolate strings (for legs)
- Candy eyes (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool completely.
- Once cooled, spread chocolate frosting on top of each cupcake.
- To make the spiders, use one Oreo cookie for the body and break another Oreo in half for the legs (using 4 pieces for each spider).
- Attach the legs to the cupcake by inserting them into the frosting.
- Place the whole Oreo on top for the spider’s body, and use candy eyes to complete the look.
Notes
Store leftover cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature. For freezing, store unfrosted cupcakes for up to 3 months.
