Paula Deen’s Green Bean Casserole

A warm and creamy green bean casserole topped with crunchy onion rings, perfect for holidays or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups sliced fresh green beans
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 (10 1/4 -oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (2 7/8 -oz) can French fried onion rings
  • Pinch of salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish with oil or butter.
  2. In a saucepan, add the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  3. Add the green beans and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. In a large skillet, add the butter. Once melted, add the onions and mushrooms and stir.
  5. Drain the green beans and add them to the onions and mushrooms.
  6. Stir in the mushroom soup, onion rings, and seasonings.
  7. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish.
  8. Bake the casserole for 20 minutes. Top with grated cheese and bake for 10 more minutes, or until the cheese is melted. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra crunch, top each serving with more fried onion rings and chopped fresh parsley.
