Classic Margherita Pizza

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add olive oil and warm water; knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  4. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a circle.
  6. Spread tomato sauce on the dough, leaving a border.
  7. Top with mozzarella slices and basil leaves.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden.
  9. Season with salt and pepper before serving.

Notes

For a crispy crust, bake on a preheated pizza stone.
