  • 1 lb ground beef or pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, salt, pepper, sesame oil, and green onions.
  3. Roll mixture into small meatballs and place on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  5. Meanwhile, make the spicy mayo dip by combining mayonnaise, gochugaru, and lemon juice in a small bowl.
  6. Serve meatballs warm with spicy mayo dip and garnish with extra green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For extra crispiness, pan-fry the meatballs after baking for a few minutes in a hot skillet with a little sesame oil.
