- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in cranberries and chocolate chips.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Pat into a circle about 1-inch thick and cut into wedges.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a healthier version, use half whole wheat flour and reduce sugar. Serve warm with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit.
