  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 14-ounce can petite diced tomatoes
  • 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until slightly pink, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onions and seasonings: Add diced onion, thyme, parsley, salt, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook until onions are soft, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Prepare the slow cooker: Transfer meat and onion mixture to the slow cooker. Add chopped cabbage on top.
  4. Make the sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and water. Stir until smooth.
  5. Combine ingredients: Pour the sauce over the mixture in the slow cooker and mix gently.
  6. Cook: Cover slow cooker and set to low for 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally.
