Ranch Packet vs. Bottled Dressing: The Secret to Perfect Spinach Dip

Creamy spinach ranch dip bursting with bold flavor—your party’s most requested appetizer.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (10‑oz) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed & squeezed dry
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning packet
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional garnish)
  • Chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for serving

Instructions

  1. Beat cream cheese in a medium bowl until smooth.
  2. Mix in sour cream, ranch seasoning packet, and mayonnaise (if using).
  3. Fold in drained spinach until evenly combined.
  4. Cover and chill at least 30 minutes for flavors to meld.
  5. Transfer to serving bowl, top with cheddar if desired, and serve with dippers.

Notes

For bottled ranch: swap packet, sour cream & mayo for 1 cup bottled ranch plus 4 oz extra cream cheese. Keep spinach very dry to avoid watery dip.
