- 1 medium Cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1/3 cup Rice flour
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder, optional
- 1/4 cup Water (adjusted, 1/3 – 1/4 cup)
- 1.5 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1/4 cup Light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Rice wine vinegar
- 1–2 tbsp Sriracha Sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 inch Fresh ginger, finely minced
- 4–5 cloves Fresh garlic, finely minced
- 2–3 tbsp Honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Water
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Spring onions for garnish
- Sliced chilies for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Cauliflower: Wash the cauliflower and cut it into small florets.
- Make the Coating: In a bowl, mix the rice flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, and water to create a thick batter.
- Coat the Cauliflower: Dip each floret into the batter, ensuring they are fully covered.
- Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, Sriracha sauce, ginger, and garlic.
- Thicken the Sauce (optional): Mix 1 tbsp of cornstarch with 1/4 cup water and heat until thickened, then add to sauce.
- Cook the Cauliflower: Heat oil in a pan and fry the coated cauliflower florets until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add Sauce: Lower the heat, pour the sauce over the cauliflower, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish: Remove from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds, sliced chilies, and spring onions over the top before serving.
Notes
For added variety, consider adding tofu or mixed vegetables. This dish can also be baked instead of fried.
