- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Jam or filling of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix flour, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add water gradually until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough and cut into rectangles.
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center of half the rectangles.
- Cover with another rectangle and seal the edges.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden and flaky.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For a healthier option, use whole wheat flour and less sugar. These tarts freeze well for meal prep.
