  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat into a rectangle, and cut into triangles or rounds.
  7. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18 to 23 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and milk until smooth.
  9. Drizzle glaze over the scones once cooled.
